I don't know how to get just a bar between the earliest and latest start dates. I thought I'd just create a bar chart but the problem is they all start the bars at the Y axis. I'm stuck because Excel can apparently only create a few kinds of pivot charts. Next I want to produce a pivot chart that shows the earliest and latest start dates for projects if it's expanded to show project-level detail, but that rolls everything up to the division level if you collapse the chart. The columns in the pivot table are just the earliest and latest start dates (technically each project can have multiple dates.don't ask). It's easy to make this into a pivot table, which I've done. I have a table of divisions, projects, and start dates for each project. I put Gantt in quotes because it's not really a Gantt chart but looks kind of like one.
